Karbonil guruhiga ko&#8217;ra G. aldogeksozalar va ketogeksozalarga bo&#8217;linadi. Aldogeksozalarga mansub glyukoza, galaktoza va mannoza tabiatda erkin holda yoki glyukozidlar, polisaxa- ridlar hamda fosfor efirlari sifati- da glikoproteidlar, glikolipidlar va b. murakkab birikmalar tarkibiga kiradi. Ketogeksozalardan eng ko&#8217;p tarqalgani \u2014 fruktoza. G. polisaxarid hamda gli- kozidlarni gidroliz qilish yo&#8217;li b-n olinadi. Aldova ketogeksozalardan ba&#8217;zilari (alloza, akroza, glyupoza, gal- toza) sintetik yo&#8217;l b-n ham olingan. G. neytral va kucheiz kislotali muhitda barqaror. Barcha G. turli qandlar va ularning hosilalarini sintez qilishda asosiy xom ashyodir.
