G. tushunchasi o&#8217;zgaruvchan va o&#8217;zgarmas tok elektr mashinalariga ham, elektr tebranishlarini hosil qiluvchi asbo- blarga ham bir xil qo&#8217;llaniladi. G.ning asosiy funktsional qismini 50 kgs \u2014 30 MGs chegarada ishlaydigan signal genera- torlari tashkil etadi. Uning chastota- si maxsus chegaralangan diapazonlarda va o&#8217;zgaruvchan sig&#8217;imlar yordamida bir tekis sozlanadi. Chastotani o&#8217;zgartish aniqpigi, odatda, 0,5\u20141,5% oralig&#8217;ida bo&#8217;ladi. Signal G.dan modulyatorga beri- ladi. Modulyatorda signal amplitudasi bo&#8217;yicha modulyasiyalanadi. Modulyasiya- lovchi signal vazifasini ichki past cha- stota g.i (\/=1000 Gts) va tashqi ulangan G.lar bajarishi mumkin.
