Bularda modernizm ta&#8217;siri seziladi. 1-jahon urushi uning ijodida burilish yasadi. Modernistik kayfiyatdan voz kechib, realistik ijod yo&#8217;liga o&#8217;tdi. Mopassan, Zolya an&#8217;analarini davom ettirdi. &#171;O&#8217;t&#187; (1916), &#171;Yorishuv&#187; (1919) romanlarida o&#8217;zi ishtirok etgan 1-jahon urushi vaqtidagi ommaning kayfiyati ifodalangan. &#171;Xalqlar&#187; (1925) romani, &#171;Kuch&#187; (1925), &#171;Jallodlar&#187; (1926), &#171;Hodisalar&#187; (&#171;Haqqoniy qissalar&#187;, 1928) va boshqa povest, hikoya va ocherklar to&#8217;plamida davrning muhim ijtimoiy voqealari aks etgan.
