Bengal tilida ijod etgan. Bengal adabiyotida tarixiy roman janrining asoschisi. Asarlarida vatanparvarlik va hind xalqining milliy ozodlik uchun kurashi bobidagi yetuk g&#8217;oyalar aks etgan. Chottopaddhayaning &#171;seni olqishlayman, Vatan!&#187; she&#8217;ri hind xalqining 1905-47 yillar mobaynidagi milliy ozodlik kurashining gimni bo&#8217;lib kelgan. &#171;Chondroshekhar&#187; (1873), &#171;Baxt makoni&#187; (1882), &#171;Raj Singh&#187; (1893) romanlari mustaqillik uchun kurash hissiyotlari bilan sug&#8217;orilgan. Ijtimoiy muammolar, jumladan, jamiyatda ayollar huquqini cheklanganligi muammosi &#171;zaharlangan daraxt&#187; (1872), &#171;Krishnokanto vasiyati&#187; (1875) kabi romanlarida aks ettirilgan. Chottopaddhaya ma&#8217;rifatparvar, publitsist va &#171;Bongodorshon&#187; jurnalining bosh muharriri sifatidagi faoliyati bilan Bengaliyaning madaniy hayotida alohida o&#8217;rin tutib kelgan.
