Arlot, bahrin, burqutyaar, Do&#8217;rmon, iyjon, Xitoy, qarluqlar, mojor, qipchoq, Qiyot, Qo&#8217;ng&#8217;irot, Qurlovut, Mang&#8217;it, naymam, nukuz, tangut, uyg&#8217;urlar, Markit, qo&#8217;shchi, o&#8217;tarchi, jot, Chimboy, kenagas, uy &#8212; shun, tuboyi, toymas, echki, tuman-ming, shodbaxtli, shunqorli va boshqa qabilalar 13- asr oxiri va 14\u2014 16-asrlarda o&#8217;tgan Sharq tarixchilari tomonidan umumiy bir nom bilan &#171;o&#8217;zbek&#187; deb atalgan. Hamdulloh Qazviniy (1281 \u2014 1350) ning &#171;Tarixi guzida&#187; (&#171;Tanlangan tarix&#187;) asarida Oltin O&#8217;rda xoni O&#8217;zbekxonta tobe yerlar va xalqlar haqida fikr yuritiladi va bu qabilalar &#171;o&#8217;zbekiyon&#187; (&#171;o&#8217;zbekiylar&#187;), ular ko&#8217;chib yurgan yerlar, ya&#8217;ni Sharqiy Dashti Qipchoq esa &#171;mamlakati o&#8217;zbek&#187; (&#171;o&#8217;zbek mamlakati&#187;) deb ko&#8217;rsatiladi. &#171;O&#8217;zbek&#187; atamasini qabilalar uyushmasi va shu qabilalarga qarashli erlarning nomi sifatida O&#8217;zbekxon davriga qadar ham qo&#8217;llanilgan. Masalan, Mirzo Ulug&#8217;bek o&#8217;zining &#171;Tarixi arba&#8217;ulus&#187; (&#171;To&#8217;rt ulus tarixi&#187;) nomli tarixiy asarida, O&#8217;zbekxonning hokimiyat tepasiga kelishi zikrida, &#171;O&#8217;zbek ulusi unga berildi&#187;, deb yozadi. Ro&#8217;zbexon &#171;Mehmonnomai Buxoro&#187; kitobida Dashti Qipchoq o&#8217;zbeklari 3 toifadan: Shayboniylar (Shaybon ulusiga kirgan o&#8217;zbeklar), qozoqlar va mang&#8217;itlarsan tashkil topganligini ko&#8217;rsatadi. Shaybon ulusi, manbalarning ma&#8217;lumotlariga ko&#8217;ra, 1238 yilda tashkil topgan va Ural tog&#8217;ining etaklaridan Tobol va Sarisuv daryolarigacha bo&#8217;lgan yerlarni o&#8217;z ichiga olgan [uning Janubiy chegarasi Orol dengizining shimol sohili, shimol chegarasi esa Chingitura (tura)dabo&#8217;lgan]. Mang&#8217;it ulusi Emba bilan yoyiq daryolari oralig&#8217;idagi yerlarga joylashgan. Mang&#8217;itlar 15-asrning 30 yillarida Abulxayrxonta bo&#8217;ysundilar. Qozoklar atamasi etnonim sifatida 1446 y.dan boshlab paydo bo&#8217;ldi. Oq O&#8217;rda xoni O&#8217;rusxon avlodi bo&#8217;lgan sultonlar: Girayxon (Kirayxon) va Jonibek 15-asrning 40-yillarida Abulxayrxonga bo&#8217;ysunishdan bosh tortib, o&#8217;z tarafdor-tobelari bilan Chu va Yettisuv vohasiga qochib ketdilar va oradan ko&#8217;p o&#8217;tmay qozoq xonligiga asos soldilar (1465 yil). Abulxayrxondan qochib ketgan bu qabilalar tarixda &#171;o&#8217;zbek-qozoq&#187; nomini oldilar. Dashti Qipchoq o&#8217;zbeklari asosan chorvachilik bilan shug&#8217;ullangan, vohalarda qisman dehqonchilik qilishgan. Dashti Qipchoq o&#8217;zbeklari faqat O&#8217;zbekxon zamonida Islom dinini qabul qilganlar, lekin ularning urfodatlarida ma&#8217;jusiylikning ayrim alomatlari saqlanib qolgan. Keyingi asrlarda Dashti Qipchoq o&#8217;zbeklari O&#8217;rta Osiyo va Sharqiy Turkistondagi bir necha xalqning tarkibiga kirgan.
