Kavabataning o&#8217;ziga xos badiiy uslubi shoirona his-tuyg&#8217;ulardan iborat &#171;qorli o&#8217;lka&#187; (1937) qissasida namoyon bo&#8217;lgan. San&#8217;at darajasiga ko&#8217;tarilgan qadimgi urf-odatlar \u2014 choy bilan bog&#8217;liq udum &#171;ming qanotli turna&#187; (1951) qissasining asosiy mavzuini tashkil etadi. &#171;Tog&#8217;lar nolasi&#187; (1953), &#171;eski poytaxt&#187; (1961) romanlari ichki lirizm bilan sug&#8217;orilgan, &#171;Uyqudagi nozaninlar&#187; (1961) qissasi yolg&#8217;iz qolgan keksa inson hayoti haqida. Kavabata bir qator esselar (&#171;go&#8217;zallikning yaratilishi va mavjudligi&#187; va boshqalar) muallifi. &#171;Uyqudagi nozaninlar&#187; qissasi o&#8217;zbek tiliga tarjima qilingan (2001 yil, tarjimon Uchqun Nazarov).
