O&#8217;zbekiston sil kasalliklari ilmiy tadqiqot institutining ordinatori (1935-40), Toshkent shahri 2-Sil kasalxonasining bosh vrachi (1940\u2014 41), sil kasallari sanatoriysining bosh vrachi (1941 \u2014 43), O&#8217;zbekiston sil kasalliklari ilmiy tadqiqot institutining assistenti, so&#8217;ngra katta ilmiy xodim (1943-46), 1951 yildan shu institut direktori, ayni vaqtda (1953 yildan) Toshkent Vrachlar malakasini oshirish instituti sil kasalliklari kafedrasining mudiri. Alimov silning epidemiologiyasi, oddini olish va davosi ustida ishlab, bemorlarni mehnat bilan davolashni ilgari surdi. Uning tashabbusi bilan O&#8217;zbekistonda mehnat bilan davolash sanatoriysi, ko&#8217;plab sil dispanserlari ochildi.
