O\u2018rta Osiyo politexnika institutida ishlagan (1940\u201445), O\u2018zbekiston Fanlar akademiyasi Fizika-texnika instituti laboratoriyasi mudiri (1948\u201456), direktor o\u2018rinbosari (1956-58), direktori (1958-62; 1966-88), O\u2018zbekiston Fanlar akademiyasi Yadro fizikasi instituti direktori (1962\u201466), \u00abFizika \u2014 Quyosh\u00bb IIChB bosh direktori (1986-88) bo\u2018lib ishlagan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O\u2018zbekiston yadro fizikasi, yuqori energiyalar fizikasi, yarimo\u2018tkazgichlar fizikasi va yuqori temperaturali geliomaterialshunoslikka asos solgan va bu sohalarni rivojlantirgan olimlardan biri. Sodiq Azimov o\u2018zi ishlab chiqqan usul yordamida kosmik nurlar tarkibida mezonlarga daxlsiz elektron va fotonlar mavjudligini isbotladi (1948). Pomir tog\u2018i tepasidagi stantsiyada (dengiz sathidan 3900 m balandlikda) Sodiq Azimov o\u2018z xodimlari bilan birgalikda kosmik nurlar va yadrolarning o\u2018zaro ta\u2019sirini o\u2018rganish borasida olib borgan ilmiy izlanishlar elektron-yadro oqimlarini kashf etish imkonini berdi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sodiq Azimov elektron-yadro jalalarini va yadro zarrachalari singishni tadqiq etgan. U o\u2018ta yuqori energiyali 1012\u2014 1013 ev) yadro jarayonlari o\u2018rganiladigan tog\u2018 stantsiyasi qurilishini tashkil etdi. Sodiq Azimov rahbarligida O\u2018zbekiston Fanlar akademiyasi fizika-texnika institutida quyosh nuri energiyasidan foydalanish usuli asosida o\u2018ta sof yarimo\u2018tkazgich materiallar olishning yangi texnologiyasi ishlab chiqildi hamda 1987 yilda Parkent tumanida 1 megavatt quvvatga ega kontsentratori bor noyob quyosh pechi barpo etildi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sodiq Azimov yadro fizikasi, yuqori energiyalar fizikasi va yuqori temperaturali geliomaterialshunoslik ilmiy maktablariga asos soldi. U 14 fan doktori va 70 dan ziyod fan nomzodini tarbiyalab, yetishtirdi.
