Sanoat mulkini muhofaza qilish Parij uyushmasiga a&#8217;zo davlatlar, adabiyot va san&#8217;at asarlarini muhofaza qilish Bern uyushmasi va boshqa ayrim ixtisoslashgan uyushmalarning diplomatik konferentsiyasi (Stokgolm, 1967)da qabul qilingan konventsiyaga muvofiq tuzilgan. Jahon intellektual mulk tashkilotining maqsadi davlatlar va xalqaro tashkilotlarning hamkorligi orqali intellektual mulkini muhofaza qilishga ko&#8217;maklashish, yuqoridagi uyushmalarning samarali faoliyat olib borishini ta&#8217;minlashdan iborat. Jahon intellektual mulk tashkilotiga 147 mamlakat (2000 y), shu jumladan O&#8217;zbekiston Respublikasi (1991 yil 25 dekabrdan) a&#8217;zo. Tashkilotning oliy organi \u2014 Bosh assambleya; ma&#8217;muriy organi \u2014 xalqaro byuro.
