Membranasi va matriksida 20 dan ortiq gidrolitik fermentlar (fosfataza, nukleazalar, katepsin, kollagenaza, glyukuronidaza, glyukozidaza va boshqalar) bor. Fermentlari kuchsiz kislotali muhitda faol. Hujayrada o&#8217;nlab Lizosoma bor. Golji apparatida hosil bo&#8217;ladi. Dastlab Fermentlari passiv bo&#8217;lib, birlamchi Lizosoma endositoz pufakchalar (fagosomalar) bilan qo&#8217;shilgach, ularning fermentlari faollashadi va yutilgan oziq moddalar hazm bo&#8217;la boshlaydi, ya&#8217;ni ikkilamchi Lizosoma \u2014 hazm vakuollari shakllanadi. Lizosoma -hujayraning o&#8217;zini hazm qiladigan bo&#8217;lsa (avtoliz) avtofagirlovchi vakuollar (avtofagosomalar, tsitolizosomalar) deyiladi. Lizosoma yaxlit xujayra yoki hujayra oralig&#8217;i moddalarini chiqarib tashlash (itbaliqlar dumining so&#8217;rilib ketishi, Tog&#8217;ay o&#8217;rnida suyak hosil bo&#8217;lishi, yallig&#8217;langan joydagi to&#8217;qimalarning yemirilishi)da ham ishtirok etishi mumkin.
